Panelists discuss "Ethics in Media" at townhall event sponsored by Rio Grande Chapter of SPJ

On December 6, 2010 the Rio Grande Chapter put on a townhall meeting on ethics in journalism, thanks to a grant from the Sigma Delta Chi Foundation, part of the Society of Professional Journalists. The event, which took place at the studios of KNME-TV, the Albuquerque PBS station, featured a distinguished panel.

The entire event was videotaped by KNME and is now available for viewing here on our website. If you weren’t able to attend, now’s your chance to “tune in” to watch the presentation. Just go to the link and click to watch a full-length edited video. Be sure to send the link to any others you think would be interested, both within the journalism community and among members of the general public. The video is tentatively scheduled to be broadcast by several media outlets in the Albuquerque area.

The participants (pictured in the photo above from left) were Todd Winge, professor of journalism at UNM; Hagit Limor, investigative reporter at WCPO-TV, Cleveland, OH and SPJ national president; Rio Grande Chapter member Gwyneth Doland, moderator; Andrea Isabel Quijada, executive director, Media Literacy Project; and Steven Robert Allen, executive director, Common Cause New Mexico. The chapter thanks these participants, and offers our special appreciation to KNME.
