Next month in Santa Fe, the Rio Grande Chapter will be hosting the SPJ Region 9 conference. We have some great panels, lectures, and social events lined up–including updated versions of two of our most popular programs in 2012.

On Saturday afternoon, we’ll be hosting another “Simplifying Science” panel. This time, microbiologist Harshini Mukundan, weather scientist Geoff Reeves, and journalists John Fleck and Bryant Furlow will be sharing their experiences and expertise. (Read details of the 2012 “Simplifying Science” event here.) Later on Saturday afternoon, Natalie Guillen will be talking about how to make the best of point-and-shoot photography. Last year we offered that program in Albuquerque–for the same price as the entire conference this spring.
