Two of New Mexico’s leading experts on media law will speak to the Rio Grande Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists from noon to 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 26, at Mitchell Hall on the University of New Mexico campus.
Attorneys Jim Dines and Gregory Williams, who represent media organizations across New Mexico, will outline real-life case studies and answer questions on defamation and privacy. Rio Grande SPJ members may pre-submit questions through the chapter’s Listserve (details to come).
Reservations are required and instructions will be announced after the first of the year. Seating is limited. The event is free to Rio Grande SPJ members and to a limited number of UNM communications and journalism faculty and students who sign up in advance. Cost for all other attendees is $5. Space for the brown-bag event (meal not provided) is limited. Paid parking is available at the UNM parking structure. The UNM Publications Board has graciously provided the venue.
