Our friends at Poynter Institute and Poynter Online have come up with a “dictionary” of terms and a list of technology concepts and explanations for working journalists at all levels in their careers.

Included are terms related to Web standards, programming, online tools, social networking, online advertising and basic technology. Individual terms range from the basic (“iPhone”) to more complicated (“Perl”).

The list was created in cooperation with Hacks/Hackers, an organization that seeks to bridge the gap between programmers and journalists.   To view the list in its entirety, click here.
