The International Women’s Media Foundation (IWMF) is accepting applications for its Women Entrepreneurs in the Global Digital News Frontier grant program. Three awardees will receive US$20,000 grants to launch digital news media projects, as well as pro-bono coaching and technical assistance to support their work. This initiative is funded by the Ford Foundation.
The grant application is open to U.S.-based women journalists proposing to use digital media in innovative ways to deliver the news. The IWMF was launched in 1990 with a mission of strengthening the role of women in the news media worldwide as a means to further freedom of the press. The IWMF uses four strategies in its work: building a vibrant network of women in the news media; cultivating effective leaders by offering innovative training to women journalists; pioneering change by engaging journalists in reporting on global issues that creates opportunities for women in the news media; and honoring the courage of women journalists worldwide.
