iucnPrint and online journalists who report on the environment can submit works to the 2010 Environmental Media Awards, designed to raise global awareness of environmental and sustainable development issues. Note!  Deadline: July 31.

Six regional winners will receive cash prizes of US$500. An overall winner will be awarded US$5,000 and a travel grant to attend the award ceremony in Nagoya, Japan in October, during the 10th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity.

The worldwide competition is co-funded by Thomson Reuters Foundation, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the COMplus Alliance of Communicators for Sustainable Development.

Each candidate may submit one article, published between June 11, 2008 and July 31, 2010. Entries can be in any language but those in languages other than English, French or Spanish must include a translation.
