Marisa Demarco is the managing editor and news editor at the Alibi. At the independently owned alternative newsweekly, that means she reports, blogs and builds multimedia packages, while assembling the news and opinions sections. She graduated from the University of New Mexico with a double major in women’s studies and English-creative writing, and a minor in music. While at the university, she worked at the Daily Lobo, eventually becoming its editor in chief. She also interned at the Albuquerque Tribune and took a position there as a copy editor and general assignment reporter. In her spare time, Marisa tells us, she “reads trashy novels and performs with local bands. In her spare spare time, she runs.” Welcome aboard!
