SPJ members still have the chance to apply for the Eugene C. Pulliam Fellowship for Editorial Writing and the Eugene S. Pulliam First Amendment Award, both offered through the Sigma Delta Chi Foundation.
The Eugene C. Pulliam Fellowship for Editorial Writing awards $75,000 to an editorial writer to help broaden his or her journalistic horizons and knowledge of the world. The annual award can be used to cover the cost of study, research and/or travel in any field.The Fellowship presentation will take place during the 2010 National Conference of Editorial Writers Convention.Learn more about the fellowship and how to apply here.
The Eugene S. Pulliam First Amendment Award honors a person or persons who have fought to protect and preserve one or more of the rights guaranteed by the First Amendment. The recipient of the award wins $10,000 and is presented the award and an engraved crystal at the 2010 SPJ Convention in Las Vegas. The honoree receives transportation to and lodging at the event.
