SPJ Region IX logo contest for college students

Published by admin on February 1, 2012

Holly J. Wolcott, an instructor of Journalism at Northwest College is requesting that college media advisers, professors and professionals in Colorado, Wyoming, New Mexico and Utah ask their students to participate in SPJ’s Region IX Spring Conference logo competition.

The conference is set for April 13 and 14 in downtown Denver. Its theme this year is “Opening Doors.”

Wolcott notes in her message that the theme of “Opening Doors” can encompass anything, including “great stories through stronger reporting and writing; opening doors to in-depth reporting by knowing how to access records and meetings; opening doors to good jobs with a strong multi-platform skill set; opening doors to various types of work with your skill set; and more.”

Any college student in Region IX is eligible. The winner will have his or her work displayed on all of the marketing and other material for the conference. Additionally, the winner will receive free registration to the conference. The deadline is Feb. 6. For more information, contact Wolcott at holly.wolcott@northwestcollege.edu.
