There is no better place or time to be for hard-hitting news than in Washington, D.C., and there is no better way to get your foot in the door than with an internship with the National Journalism Center. The 12-week program combines weekly seminars, assigned reporting drills, and working journalism through internships with newspapers, magazines, broadcast outlets, and other media outlets. Weekly seminars include a blend of writing assignments, journalism exercises and quizzes, lectures with prominent public policy experts and journalists, and current event discussions. Interns typically work three to four days per week at a news outlet, which could include evening and weekend hours, and spend one day per week at the National Journalism Center participating in the training workshop. DEADLINE: December 31.
NJC interns have recently been placed with media outlets around the Washington, D.C. area, including the Washington Times, Washington Examiner, Human Events, Fox News, Religion & Ethics Newsweekly, Radio America, The Sean Hannity Show, American Veterans Center, BroadbandCensus.com, Forbes, CNSnews.com, Media Research Center, Newsbusters.org, News Max, Catholic News Service, Doublethink Magazine and many more.
