North American journalists covering trauma-related issues can enter the Dart Awards. The deadline is January 25, 2011, and entries must have been published between January 1 and December 31, 2010.
The Dart Awards recognize journalism that contributes to the public understanding of trauma. Entries should portray the experiences of victims and survivors with sensitivity and insight, and avoid sensationalism. Up to four US$5,000 prizes will be given to the winning reporting teams.
The competition is open to all North American news media outlets. Print, broadcast and online journalists are eligible to apply. Entries published in other languages must be accompanied by an English translation.
