The SPJ Region 9 Conference will take place April 15-17 in Albuquerque. There will be an excellent slate of panels on issues such as covering elections, multimedia journalism, diversifying your sources, reporting on poverty, covering cops and criminal justice and challenges facing college journalists.
Keynote speaker is Robert Hernandez, a professor at the University of Southern California and a pioneer in web journalism. We will also have Dave Maass of the Electronic Frontier Foundation who will discuss digital security for journalists and their sources.
