The selected candidate must possess: a background in the arts; an eye for detail; the ability to work well as a team member with designers, writers & other editors; grace under pressure; five years editing experience with newspapers or magazines; and a Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, or writing-intensive discipline. Facility on Mac, Adobe InDesign, and NewsEditPro is preferred. Duties include: Fact checking; editing copy for style, tone, accuracy, punctuation, and grammar; editing stories for content, structure, and overall interest; creating appropriate headlines & imaginative cutlines, and proofreading pages in pre-press stage, among other duties.
