Digital news photographer/editor
The Digital news photographer/editor will shoot and edit video, as well as operate live backpacks, flir from helicopter, and drone for online publication and live streaming.
The successful candidate will embrace news photography and all aspects of newsgathering including gathering information, conducting interviews, writing scripts and generating content in our Digital First newsroom.
- Shoots and edits news video stories, including daily news, special news, features, sports and live events for web and television
- Takes direction from and interacts with the news managers & digital staff
- Maintains and operates camera equipment as well as company vehicle safely and efficiently
- Operates cameras, video on cell phone, portable TVU live backpack units, live microwave, and satellite trucks, in remote situations
- Performs other duties as assigned
News photographer
The news photographer operates television or video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports.
- Shoots video for news reports
- Confers with other personnel to discuss assignments, logistics and shot requirements
- Sets up, composes and executes video shots
- Maintains video equipment
- Edits video clips for television broadcasts and eMedia content
- Operates live microwave and satellite trucks in remote situations
- Performs other duties as assigned

KRQE News 13 is looking for an experienced government/political reporter passionate about delivering daily in-depth reporting.
From the roundhouse, to local elections, city council, and local politics that impact Albuquerque and New Mexico’s residence, 2021 will be one of the most exciting years to cover politics in the state. KRQE News 13 looks to tackle this type of coverage unlike any other newsroom in the market – finding in-depth, innovative ways to report daily on state government/political news, as well as producing a weekly political show to air statewide.
- Daily reporting online, taking an in-depth, balanced political approach
- Generate story ideas with substantial viewer value that fit station brand
- Ensure balance, fairness, integrity, and accuracy of reporting through thorough research and interviewing
- Solid editorial judgment, knowledge of journalism ethics and libel laws
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with managers, producers, photojournalists, and other staff
- Consistently engage with the audience on social media
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
