The New Mexico Local News Fund and SPJ-Rio Grande are teaming up to offer financial support for journalists to attend in-state, out-of-state, or international conferences and trainings.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis, and expenses for trainings will be reimbursed up to $2,000 per person. New Mexico journalists can apply for any training or conference that is focused on professional development.
NMLNF supports sustainability in journalism across the state by investing in professional development for working journalists, cultivating the next generation of journalists and supporting innovation and engagement around local news. NMLNF Funding for professional training this year comes from the Thornburg Foundation.
