KOB-TV in Albuquerque is hiring an assistant news director.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum of five years of success in key leadership role(s) within a television newsroom. Demonstrable knowledge of all phases of a television news operation, including, but not limited to: news reporting and writing, newscast formats, news producing, newsroom organization, and news gathering technology. The right candidate will be a person who has a passion for news — living and breathing the big and breaking stories with a ferocious, competitive instinct. You must lead by example and action. You must have a valid driver’s license. Driving record will be checked.
DUTIES:
Developing and maintaining a strategic and editorial vision for Eyewitness News 4. Seeing that the vision and mission of Eyewitness News 4 is understood by entire news organization. You must be an excellent manager of both people and content. Teaching and coaching is a huge part of this job. You must be fearless to make decisions. You must have the ability to manage people for improvement, have the difficult conversations and hold people accountable. All of this must be done out of an obvious desire to help each member of the team achieve their full potential while winning the news wars. Responsible for all administrative duties associated with helping to run the news organization.
