The American Red Cross in New Mexico is presenting an event on Nov. 1 exploring the threats to journalists around the world.

Rio Grande SPJ is co-sponsoring the evening with Alfredo Corchado, Mexico bureau chief of The Dallas Morning News and author of “Midnight in Mexico: A Reporter’s Journey through a Country’s Descent into Darkness,” and Mohamed Keita, Africa advocacy coordinator for The Committee to Protect Journalists. Individual presentations will be followed by a panel discussion with questions from the audience.

The event takes place at the Hotel Andaluz from 6 to 9 p.m. There is limited seating and tickets are $50. Get more information and buy tickets here.
