Well, all y’all responded vigorously and donated more than $1,400 for journalists in Myanmar! When you add in our group’s $1,000 matching donation, that makes a total of $2,400 to support journalists who desperately need the help.
As part of our new team, you will focus on environment and climate change coverage while exploring human conditions that impact life in our unique city. The role requires an eagerness to tell stories about how we live in our community.
It is a situation I blundered into by chance. I landed my first job as a reporter at the Deming Headlight after several years as a columnist for the same paper. They let me continue writing the column, which later migrated (with me) to the Las Cruces Sun-News; but my editors and I managed my dual role with care.
